Able to eliminate work accident rates, PT Polytama Propindo won an award in the field of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) in 2019. The company producing polypropylene resin (plastic ore) was able to maintain 15,833,573 hours without work accident.
The award was given directly by the Minister of Manpower (Kemenaker), Hanif Dhakiri at the Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta on Monday night (23/4). The petrochemical industry which has a factory in Majakerta Village, Balongan District, Indramayu Regency won the 2019 Zero Accident Award.
Based on the results of an independent team audit, Polytama has successfully implemented the K3 program from January 2015 to December 2018. It has been noted that Polytama has over 15,833,573 hours with no reports or work injuries that injure, fatalities, make other people sick in the work environment of one of the producers the largest plastic ore in the country.
Director of Operations of Polytama, Syawaludin Azwar, received the award presentation from Menaker Hanif Dhakiri. This award is a claim that this industrial company has a strong commitment to protect its employees from the protection or safety of safety during working hours.
Since 2015, Polytama has succeeded in maximizing the K3 program in the petrochemical company's factory environment. This program has been carried out for more than three years, until it was launched at the end of April 2019, there have never been work accidents that injured or killed workers.
"Initially this K3 was a program. But after all this time the program was implemented, to this day, Polytama sees that K3 has become a work culture, a need as well as an investment. The implementation of K3 automatically also saves continued work productivity in the company environment, "said Polytama General Manager, Dwinanto Kurniawan, in his statement received by Republika.co.id, Wednesday (24/4).
On the eve of the award ceremony, Menaker Hanif Dhakiri explained, the K3 program was a big investment for each industry or company with regard to human resources (HR). With occupational safety and health, productivity in the company will be higher so as to produce greater profits as well.
"K3 must become a culture in the company environment. Don't be burdened. The biggest reason for investing in HR is to pay attention to safety and health while working. By making OSH a culture, the company is moved to further optimize the implementation of the program, "he said.
